Optics budget in a Maya’s scene
Disparity measure.
In a stereo project, whatever it is, glass or not (e.g. autostereoscopic monitors), in my opinion, the most important feature is the dispa
rity control.
In 2009 when I started stereoscopic study, the Maya’s camera stereo rig, didn’t exist, and I needed to somethings that helped me to realize an off axis rig. See also: http://www.maurizioturoni.eu/old_site/cameraRigE.php
At the end I made a four cameras rig that produce two stereo pairs image, so I can handle background with others stereo parameters as zero plane and distance between cameras.
Using this rig I implemented a Python class that measure the single object disparity in Maya scene, but it can achieve the optical budget of the shot camera . See picture below.
The tool marks the limits of the camera shot with two locators. They represents the disparity minimum and maximum in the scene. The picture below, shows a particular case because the scene is all behind the zero plane, so in the results on the interface window there isn’t the negative value.
